Vallejo Maritime Gallery
The Vallejo Gallery enjoys an international reputation for offering the finest marine art and nautical antiques. In our Newport Beach, California location since 1972, the gallery has dedicated itself to the preservation and research of historic visual arts from the past. The gallery possesses an inventory that is unsurpassed in quantity with our ongoing quest for artistic excellence, great quality and rarity.
Our maritime collection covers artists and views the world over, with an emphasis on American and British history. Complimenting the ship portraits and battle scenes are paintings of famous racing yachts of the past, people at leisure along the world’s beaches, the pleasing drama of true ocean seascapes, and atmospheric views of shores and harbors worldwide. All of the mainstream marine artists are represented, such as James E. Buttersworth, James Bard, Montague Dawson, Samuel Walters, William Bradford, Robert Salmon, and numerous others. We possess works in various media with a preference for oil on canvas. The diverse art styles and classifications are well represented, including realists, romanticism, impressionism, folk art, barbizon school, luminism or post-impressionism, with artists of substance who found themselves inspired by the sea, such as Eugene Boudin, Thomas Moran, Henri Lebasque, Guy C. Wiggins, Childe Hassam and many others. Each painting is fully researched and authenticated.
We strive to assist the building of public and private art collections. Each painting or artifact we offer has been individually selected by Gallery Director Joseph Vallejo for its artistic excellence and its potential investment value. We use only the finest conservationists and framers. Our inventory is always changing, and it includes more than 250 paintings, 150 models and several thousand unique and rare artifacts, instruments, images and other memorabilia of the world’s great nautical heritage. We advertise nationally, and have editions available of our full color catalogs. We invite you to share your specific interests in marine art and artifacts, and look forward to hearing from you.
We are always seeking to purchase the finest quality marine art.
